Ma’rib Joint stronghold of ISIS, Saudi Arabia and the United States

A recent statement by the terrorist group ISIS showed that the group, along with the United States and Saudi Arabia, is involved in aggression against the Yemeni people and is merely a tool for both countries.

The recent statement of the terrorist group ISIS revealed another curtain of the terrorist groups’ cooperation with Saudi Arabia and the United States against the Yemeni people.

ISIL recently announced that it was taking part in the war against the Yemeni army and popular committees in the city of Ma’rib, and is fighting alongside elements of the Al-Islah (Brotherhood) party, the Saudi military and the United States against the Yemeni People’s Forces.

Mohammed Fattah, an adviser to the Yemeni Supreme Political Council, said that ISIL has been present since the beginning of the aggression against the Yemeni people and continues to commit crimes in the provinces of Taiz and Aden.

ISIL has committed the worst crimes against the Yemeni people as “part of the tools of the Saudi-American coalition against Yemen,” Fattah quoted September 26 as saying.

ISIL cooperates with Washington and Riyadh in southern Yemen

Ibrahim al-Wujiyah, a Yemeni military expert, also stressed that with the start of US and Saudi attacks on Yemen, large numbers of ISIS elements were transferred from Syria to Yemen to join forces with other terrorist groups, especially in the southern provinces, against the army and popular committees.

Al-Wajih stated that the Saudi aggressor coalition usually uses ISIS as its last lever of pressure; Because the mercenaries affiliated with this coalition have failed in Marib, and the recent statement of ISIL is to raise the morale of these elements.

He mentioned: “Al-Islah party, ISIS and al-Qaeda are two sides of the same coin. “All of them are the product of Takfiri-Wahhabi thinking. Marib is the last headquarters of Hezbollah in the north [Yemen] and has no place in the south.”

ISIL seeks to establish ‘Emirate of Ma’rib’

Mohammed Ali Taeiman, a member of the Yemeni parliament, also said that ISIL elements were publicly present in Ma’rib, and that the group’s recent statement indicated the terrorist group’s involvement with the Saudi aggression coalition.

Taeiman believes that the purpose of this statement is to introduce Ma’rib as the “Emirate” of ISIL in Yemen in order to attract terrorists from other parts of the world.
