Pak Sahafat – Marine Le Pen, head of the National Assembly faction in the French lower house, called Paris’s participation in anti-Russian sanctions a “geopolitical mistake” at a party meeting on Sunday.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency from TASS news agency, Le Pen called the sanctions against Russia inappropriate and wrong and added: The European Union imposed these sanctions “in a state of hysteria and (uncontrollable excitement and emotions) caused by the conflict in Ukraine.”
According to him, “the politics of the European Union is changing from a federal to an empire.”
Le Pen said: Brussels’ dangerously hostile stance is leading to a growing rejection of national forces and nationalism in the EU member states.

He sees a reflection of this trend, particularly in voter sentiment in Sweden, Italy and the Netherlands, noting that in June’s French parliamentary elections, the National Front won 89 seats.
Le Pen said: This was our biggest success in 50 years of party activity.
TASS said: On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request from the leaders of the Donbas republics for help. After that, the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, as well as a number of other countries imposed sanctions against Russian natural and legal entities.
In addition, Western countries have sent billions of dollars in arms and military equipment to Ukraine.
