Khalilzad: The international community’s relationship with the Taliban depends on the fight against ISIS

According to the Pak Sahafat News Agency, Zalmi Khalilzad, the former representative of the US in Afghanistan peace affairs, said that ISIS is the common enemy of the Taliban and the international community, so cooperation against this terrorist group can be an important part of future relations.

He pointed out that the Taliban signed the Doha Agreement, so the available options for the full implementation of this agreement are the “best way” ahead, which addresses all the concerns of Afghans and the international community.

Although the Taliban have repeatedly denied the presence of ISIS in Afghanistan, they occasionally report operations against this terrorist group in some areas, especially in Kabul.

Anatoly Sidorov, head of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, said that the number of ISIS fighters has reached 6,500 in Afghanistan, of which 4,000 are concentrated near the border of Tajikistan.
