Jens Stoltenberg: The fall of the political-military leadership was the cause of Taliban domination in Afghanistan

Without mentioning the devastating effects of the 20-year presence of US troops and the organization in Afghanistan, the NATO Secretary General stated that the lack of cohesion of the political leadership in this country paved the way for Taliban domination.

According to Pak Sahafat news agency, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told the New York Times that the Taliban’s occupation of Afghanistan was due to the fall of Afghanistan’s political and military leadership.

He said in this regard: What we saw was the fall of the political and military leadership, and that led to the complete collapse of the (Afghanistan) defense against the Taliban.

Stoltenberg also stressed that many assessments will be made to study whether the withdrawal of the United States and its allies from Afghanistan led to the fall of the Afghan government.

He added: My main focus is on how we can protect the gains we have made in the war on terrorism and how we can get people out of Afghanistan.

Such allegations are being made by the NATO Secretary General and Western leaders as the United States invaded Afghanistan with its NATO allies twenty years ago under the pretext of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center twin towers in New York.

The presence of US and NATO troops finally ended on August 29, 2021, with no gains, and shortly before their withdrawal was completed, Afghanistan became the scene of chaos and clashes between government forces and the Taliban, which eventually by claiming control of Kabul, he claimed complete power, after which former President Ashraf Ghani fled the country.

The military presence of the United States and its allies in Afghanistan over the past twenty years has always been justified under the pretext of fighting terrorism, while at the present time they claim that terrorism has become a global phenomenon compared to two decades ago!
