Islamabad: We are worried about a thousand Pakistanis in Sudan

Pak Sahafat – Referring to the presence of 1,000 Pakistani citizens in Sudan, Pakistan asked the conflicting parties in this country to exercise restraint and stop the tensions.

According to the Pak Sahafat News Agency report of Pakistan National TV on Saturday, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country announced that there are about 1,000 Pakistani citizens in Sudan and Islamabad is closely monitoring the security situation in this country.

The Speaker of the Senate of Pakistan also expressed his concern about the internal conflicts between different factions in Sudan during the holy month of Ramadan.

Mohammad Sadiq Sanjrani said: Pakistan demands the leaders and all involved parties to stop the violence immediately and refrain from further escalation of tension or mobilization of forces.

The President of the Senate of Pakistan emphasized that the violence and conflict not only violates the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan, but also undermines the peace and stability of Sudan.

He called on all Sudanese leaders to continue meaningful talks and negotiations to resolve the remaining issues and conflicts.

Clashes broke out on Saturday morning between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) in many areas of the Sudanese capital Khartoum and other areas around the capital.

Several tanks were deployed in Khartoum on Saturday evening following the armed clashes between the forces of “Abd al-Fattah al-Barhan”, the commander of the army and the head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan, and “Mohammed Hamdan Deglu” nicknamed “Hamidati”, the deputy of al-Barhan and the commander of the rapid reaction forces.

News sources reported that rapid reaction forces blew up two Sudanese army tanks around the official television headquarters in Khartoum.
