India’s ruling party has banned its 38 members from expressing or inciting religious sentiment

Pak Sahafat – India’s ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has compiled a list of 38 of its leaders who have previously issued insulting remarks, barring them from any comments that offend religious sentiments.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency from “Amar ojala” website, in an instruction to all BJP leaders, JP Nada, the leader of the BJP, urged them not to publish statements that were against BJP policies.

According to informed officials, the BJP has compiled a list of 38 leaders who have previously hurt religious sentiment. Of these, 27 were instructed to seek permission from the party before making any comments.

The party has also instructed its spokesmen to refrain from commenting in public or in cyberspace.

Official protests against New Delhi erupted after two ruling party officials made derogatory remarks against the Prophet Muhammad during a televised debate, prompting a “public apology” from Qatar and several other Muslim countries.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party of India on Sunday suspended the membership of its spokesman Nupur Sharma and the party’s media chief in New Delhi, Navin Kumar Jindal, declaring that it respects the sanctities of all religions.

At least five Arab countries have officially reported their protests against India to the embassy and foreign ministry.

In the first step, the Qatari Foreign Ministry summoned the Indian ambassador to Doha following the insult of the official spokesman of the ruling party of India to the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and issued a note to him, strongly condemning the remarks of this Indian official.

Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan also reacted strongly on Monday to remarks by two members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Narendra Modi.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday night strongly condemned the insult of an official in the ruling party of India to the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and called on the Indian authorities to resolutely confront these insults to the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and to bring to justice those who are involved in these heinous acts and who commit acts of violence and hatred against Muslims, and those behind them.
