Increasing pressure on illegal immigrants in France

Pak Sahafat – In the first 8 months of this year, the departure of illegal immigrants from France has increased by 20%, and half of this population was forced to leave the country.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from the French news agency, While the French Ministry of Interior announced a 20% increase in the voluntary or forced departure of illegal immigrants from France compared to the same time last year, it confirmed that half of this population was forced to leave the country.

In this way, from January to August, 12,708 people left France, and half of this population, equal to 7,627 people, had to leave. 10,547 people left France in the first 8 months of last year.

Most of these immigrants went to North African countries, which shows a 46% increase compared to last year.

A comparison of the statistics of the departure of illegal immigrants indicates that this number increased by 8.2 percent in 2021 compared to the previous year (2020) and reached 13,403 people from 12,384. The number of immigrants deported from France in 2019 and before the Covid-19 pandemic was much higher; this year, 23,746 immigrants were deported from France.

Earlier, on September 15 (September 24), French President Emmanuel Macron announced in a statement to the regional governors that the Ministry of Interior has prepared a new asylum and immigration bill and will present it in early 2023.
