Hundreds of thousands of new followers on Trump’s Twitter account after his comeback

Pak Sahafat – Although former US President Donald Trump announced that he would never return to Twitter, he has gained hundreds of thousands of new Twitter followers since returning to this account last week.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, Newsweek wrote on Thursday night, after SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk left the fate of Trump’s return to Twitter up to a public Twitter poll, he announced on Saturday, Nov. 19, that he would allow the former president to return to his beloved social media site.

More than 15 million people participated in the poll, and 51.8 percent of users said that Trump’s Twitter account should be returned to him.

Following the attack on the Congress building on January 6, 2021, and due to fears that Trump would use Twitter to incite more violence, he was permanently banned from this social network.

The people spoke, Musk later tweeted, quoting the Latin phrase “Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” meaning “the voice of the people is the voice of God.” Trump will be back in office.

The reinstatement came days after Trump’s endorsement to run for president again in 2024.

Almost immediately after Trump returned to Twitter, most of the 88 million followers he had in January 2021 returned. However, it was likely that he would not be able to regain his full follower count in January 2021 due to the removal of bots and other deleted accounts.

According to social media analytics website SocialBlade, as of Nov. 20, the day after Trump’s account came back, he had 87,282,388 Twitter followers.

It appears that since Musk reinstated Trump’s account, he has a total of over 87.7 million followers, with 449,969 new followers.

By comparison, Joe Biden’s official Twitter account, “POTUS,” has gained 212,562 new followers since November 20, and his other account, “@JoeBiden,” has gained 222,720 followers.

Trump has teased that he is unlikely to return to posting on Twitter and will instead remain active on his Truth Social platform.

Speaking on a panel at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual leadership meeting on November 19, the former US president said the Truth Social app, developed by the Trump Media and Technology Team (TMTG), will break records.

He added: “The app is doing incredibly well, even though the press hates talking about it.” I think the level of engagement there is much better than Twitter.

Trump noted: Of course, I heard that many users voted for my return to Twitter, but I don’t see a reason for this. Now they are facing a lot of problems on Twitter, you are witnessing new events on Twitter, events that may be able to fix it and may not be able to handle it in the end.
