Following the martyrdom of a free Palestinian in the prison of the occupying regime, Palestinians went on a general strike in the Bethlehem area and Hamas called on international organizations to prosecute the Zionists.
According to the international group of Pak Sahafat news agency, quoting Al-Mayadin, the Fatah movement and the Coordination Committee in the West Bank province of Bethlehem announced a general strike following the martyrdom of the free Palestinian Hussein Masalmeh in the Zionist enemy prison, and Hamas blamed the occupying Zionist regime for the martyrdom of this Palestinian prisoner.
Following the general strike, all people joined the strike by closing shops and malls. The teachers’ union in Bethlehem also announced last night that all schools in the province are committed to participating in the general strike.
The media office of the Palestinian captives blamed the occupying Zionist regime for the martyrdom of Hussein Masalmeh and stressed that the Palestinian captive underwent an operation of death and deliberate removal by the occupiers and medical negligence.
The Palestinian movement Hamas also stressed that Hussein Masaleh was subjected to torture and deliberate medical negligence and, like other Palestinian prisoners, was held in very poor conditions, and that the occupying Zionist regime was fully responsible for his martyrdom.
Hamas stressed in its statement that this crime against humanity is added to the black record of the occupying regime and its set of crimes against our brave and heroic prisoners, which shows the extent of the aggression of the Zionist occupiers against the sick prisoners in general and the Palestinian prisoners in particular.
The Palestinian Movement also called on all international and human rights organizations to immediately and seriously save the lives of thousands of Palestinian prisoners in the prisons of the occupying regime and to prosecute the regime for its crimes and atrocities.
Last night, the free Palestinian Hussein Masalmeh was martyred due to the medical negligence of the Zionist regime’s prisons organization.
The physical condition of the free Palestinian Hussein Masalmeh deteriorated as a result of the medical negligence policy of the Zionist prisons organization during his captivity, until he was finally martyred on Wednesday night.
Masaleh was suffering from leukemia and yet he was imprisoned by the Zionist regime for 18 years, during which time the regime refused to provide him with the necessary treatment, which led to his deteriorating condition and his martyrdom.
Following the announcement of the martyrdom, Palestinians demonstrated in some areas of the West Bank, including Bethlehem, and blamed the Zionist regime.
