Gantz in Paris: Iran is the biggest threat to Israel

During a visit to France, the regime’s war minister spoke about issues such as the need to confront Iran, the Lebanese crisis and the strengthening of the Palestinian Authority, Zionist media reported.

Israeli War Minister Benny Gantz summed up a ten-hour visit to Paris on Wednesday evening and met with French officials, including the Minister of Defense and the head of the country’s General Directorate of Foreign Security.

During the meetings, Gantz spoke about strategic military relations between Israel and France, as well as the need to strengthen security cooperation, according to the website Aroutes Shoa.

According to the report, one of the main points of her consultations with French officials was “the need to counter Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the risk of an escalating arms race in the region [West Asia].”

Reiterating baseless and fabricated allegations against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Gantz claimed in talks with the French: “Iran is a global and regional problem and is the biggest threat to Israel. Israel is doing whatever it takes to defend itself.”

The Israeli war minister also spoke about the Lebanese crisis, the need for plans to strengthen the Palestinian Authority, as well as ways to increase stability in the Gaza Strip, according to Aroutes Shoa.

He had previously stressed the need for the regime to prepare for a confrontation with Iran’s nuclear capabilities, and called on the new Tel Aviv cabinet to make arrangements to maintain military superiority in the regime’s security forces.

Since taking office in recent months, the new Israeli cabinet has been working to prevent the revival of the Iran nuclear deal by sending Israeli officials to the United States and meeting with US officials and signatories to the UN Security Council.
