French official: The West is close to war with Russia

Pak Sahafat – Former French ambassador to the United States, Gerard Aroud, said on Friday that the West is close to war with Russia, because it cannot allow Ukraine to fail and its international reputation to be damaged.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from “Tass” news agency, he said in an interview with a Swiss channel: We are really close to war with Russia. We support Ukraine to such an extent that we cannot accept the failure of this country anymore.

Aroud, who also served as France’s ambassador to the United Nations, added: Ukraine’s defeat would be a defeat for the West and an incredible loss of credibility in front of the world.

In response to the question whether Kiev can win, he said: Considering the balance of power, most military experts believe that Ukraine cannot inflict a decisive defeat on Russia.

Russian official: The West will not stop at sending tanks to Ukraine

Since the beginning of Russia’s military operations in Ukraine last March, Western countries, especially the United States and England, have fueled the unrest in Ukraine by intensifying the pressure of sanctions against Russia.

England is one of the countries that has become an active player in the war in Ukraine and insists that Ukraine should be strengthened militarily in order not only to resist Russia but also to attack the country’s strategic goals. Meanwhile, the recent disclosure of a former British military official about the age of the country’s army weapons has created the suspicion that Britain is sending out-of-class equipment to Ukraine in order to modernize its army to make room for new ammunition.

The war in Ukraine was triggered by the West’s inattention to Moscow’s security concerns and the expansion of NATO forces near the borders of Russia. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region, and three days later, he launched a military operation against Ukraine, which he called a “special operation”. In this way, the tense Moscow-Kiev relationship turned into a military confrontation.

Last September, the President of Russia announced his readiness to hold peace talks with Kiev and asked Ukraine to stop hostilities. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, under the influence of Western warmongers, said that he is ready to negotiate when another president comes to power in Russia.
