Disagreement in the Republican front after the announcement of Trump’s candidacy

Pak Sahafat – Following Trump’s announcement last night to run for the 2024 US elections, it seems that a split has been created in the Republican front, with some praising him and some calling for his resignation.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s Wednesday report from the Hill news website, among the front of supporters and supporters of the re-nomination of the former US president, Marjorie Taylor Green, a representative close to Trump in the state of Georgia, had previously announced her support for his candidacy.

Accordingly, “Troy Nells” and “Andy Biggs”, representatives of the Republican Party of Texas and Arizona, also supported Trump’s re-candidacy for the next US presidential election.

Nels shared a video of Trump saying, “America’s comeback begins now.”

Biggs also said in support of Trump: Trump is the leader of the Republican Party. Let’s Make America Great Again (Trump’s campaign slogan).

In this regard, South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, although she did not explicitly support Trump, praised the political strategy used by the former American president and wrote: If Trump continues this way, he will be hard to defeat.

In contrast, a number of Republican officials, including Larry Hogan and Asa Hutchinson, retired governors of Maryland and Arkansas, rejected Trump’s candidacy and predicted he would lose.

Hogan wrote in a message in response to the announcement of Trump’s candidacy: Losing twice isn’t just stupid: This is a gift to the Democrats.

Hutchinson also said there are “better choices” for the 2024 Republican nominee.

Hillary Clinton’s candidacy in the 2024 US elections

According to this report, after the announcement of the preliminary results of the mid-term elections of the US Congress and the unfavorable results of the red wave, some members of the Republican Party are somewhat disappointed with Trump.

Jeb Bush, the prominent Republican and the second son of George Herbert Walker Bush (Bush Sr.), called him weak in a message criticizing Trump.

In this regard, some former employees of the White House, including “Alyssa Farah”, the former director of strategic communications of the White House, “Sarah Matthews”, Trump’s deputy press secretary, and “Mick Mulvaney”, his chief of staff, have also expressed doubts about Trump’s choice for the Republican nomination.

Previously, Mike Pence, Trump’s vice-president during his presidency, had said that there are better options than Trump in response to the possibility of Trump’s candidacy for the 2024 presidential election.

The former president of the United States announced in a gathering on Tuesday night at his residence in Maralago that he will run for the 2024 presidential election. He, who is trying to reach the presidency again for two non-consecutive terms, said: In order to make America great and glorious again, tonight I am announcing my candidacy for the presidency of the United States.

Trump continued that America under the control of Democrats is not our destiny and should not continue. We want America to shine.

Recently, Fox News, close to the Republicans, announced in a report: The biggest winner of the mid-term elections is undoubtedly “Ron DeSantis”, the governor of Florida, and the big loser of this election is Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, whose selected candidates could not even defeat their vulnerable Democratic rivals in some election contests.

Now that there is a difference of opinion within the Republican Party and the need for change, some have called for a switch from Trump and Iqbal to Ron DeSantis.

In this regard, the results of the YouGov poll in the first days after the 2022 midterm elections show that among Republicans and people who think closer to the Republicans, 42% of DeSantis and 35% of Trump as candidates for the presidential election.

The intra-party differences between the Republicans have gone so far that now there is doubt in the US Congress about the choice of the leadership of this party in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Kevin McCarthy, the choice to lead the party in the House of Representatives, has been challenged by some members of the conservative Freedom Caucus.
