The Arab service of the German news agency Deutsche Welle fired two other Arab journalists on charges of “anti-Semitism,” news sources reported.

According to Pak Sahafat news agency, quoted by Anatolian News Agency, the German news agency Deutsche Welle fired two other Arab journalists on charges of “anti-Semitism” in the latest move after firing five Arab journalists.

The two Palestinian journalists, Zahi Allawi and Yasser Abu Ma’iliq, were fired for using “anti-Semitic” terms on their social media accounts.

Allawi worked for the German media organization for 17 years and Abu Ma’iliq for 12 years.

The two Arab journalists were among eight people investigated by the network’s director last week.

The director general of Deutsche Wele said in connection with the dismissal of the two journalists: Allawi and Abu Muaylaq had previously condemned the Israeli attack on the besieged Gaza Strip in 2014 through their social media accounts.

On February 8, the network fired five Arab journalists for using “anti-Semitic” terms.

Deutsche Welle’s director General Peter Lamborgh told a news conference at the time that five Arab journalists had been fired and that investigations into eight others were ongoing.
