Confession of political prisoners with false promise of freedom

Pak Sahafat – The “Emirate Leaks” database, which tracks internal developments and human rights violations in the UAE, has stated in its latest report: The story of Maryam Belushi, the Emirati political prisoner, has once again raised the issue of “false promises” and blackmailing prisoners. In this regard, the “Center for Aid and Assistance to Prisoners of the Emirates” revealed a few days ago that the Emirati authorities forced Belushi to hire a law firm to file a case against a human rights organization in exchange for the promise of his release. But according to this center, the Emirati authorities did not fulfill their promise as usual and Belushi is still in prison.

Of course, Belushi was not and is not the first victim of these false promises, and he is also not the first Emirati activist to be a victim of the lies of his country’s authorities.

When Belushi was arrested almost 7 years ago, Ahmad al-Zahani, the head of the National Security Prosecutor’s Office, lied to him that if he confessed to the charges, the maximum punishment for his sentence would be only 6 months, and also promised him that due to his poor condition and young age.

After signing the interrogation documents and under pressure, Belushi was forced to confess to the accusations against him, but none of the promises were fulfilled and he was transferred to the infamous Al-Wothbah prison and sentenced to 5 years in prison.

In that video tape, which was broadcast by all the television channels of the UAE, Al Suwaidi thanked and appreciated the excellent behavior of the prison guards in the prison and the kind of food they receive and said: In terms of quality, this food is similar to the food that people eat at home.

Al Suwaidi did everything the UAE authorities asked him to do, but despite all this, the authorities did not release him, and despite the end of his sentence, he is still in prison.

According to this report, the UAE authorities have so far deceived many political prisoners and promised them that they will be released soon if they cooperate with the investigation department, but all of them – whether they agreed to cooperate or not – They are still in detention.

All the mentioned cases prove that the Emirati authorities are blackmailing the political prisoners and playing with their emotions and giving them false promises and promising that they will be released if they fulfill their demands. In fact, the UAE authorities are abusing them to achieve their goals, and without a doubt, this has had a very bad effect on the souls of the prisoners.
