Pak Sahafat – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of China said that the immediate priority for America and China is to resolve the issue of Taiwan in the correct way and warned about the consequences of not dealing with this issue properly and the destructive effect it will have on the relations between the two countries.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report on Wednesday from China’s CGTN news site, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi made these statements in a meeting with former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in New York.
He mentioned the visit of Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, to Taiwan, the holding of a consultative meeting of US senators entitled “Action for Taiwan Policy 2022” and the claims made about the defense of Taiwan by the US, in general, all 3 joint declarations of the US and China.
This Chinese political official further added that China’s greatest wish is to achieve peaceful integration and unity, and will do its best to realize this goal. He also warned that the more popular “Taiwan independence” becomes, the less likely it is to achieve a peaceful solution.

On the other hand, Henry Kissinger, who personally played a role in the formation of the Shanghai Declaration between the United States and China 50 years ago, recalled how he and the leaders of China at that time reached an agreement on this historical document and added that the great importance of the Taiwan issue for China should be be fully recognized.
In the end, this veteran American politician said that America and China should reach a solution through negotiation and not through confrontation. These two countries should continue to have a peaceful bilateral relationship.
