Bin Farhan’s trip to Pakistan / Imran Khan between the US and China

The Saudi foreign minister recently traveled to Pakistan on behalf of Joe Biden to bring Saudi officials in line with Riyadh and Washington policies.

The Pakistani and Saudi foreign ministers attended a joint news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday after a bilateral meeting and a high-level delegation meeting in Islamabad.

At the press conference, Pakistani Foreign Minister Qureshi met with his Saudi counterpart to discuss regional issues, including Kashmir and the current situation in Afghanistan, and to discuss developments in the Middle East, including Palestine, Yemen, and regional stability, especially the situation in Afghanistan.

There is no doubt that Saudi Arabia is a servant of the United States and, in their view, a milking cow, and will do everything it can to fulfill the national interests of the United States.

But since Imran Khan took office, Pakistan’s policy has changed a little but is unpredictable. A few weeks ago, when the leader of the People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, went to Washington, the Pakistani government officially announced that the United States had turned its back on Imran Khan after he became disillusioned with Imran Khan. His visit to the White House was also a push to achieve Joe Biden’s goals in Pakistan, as Imran Khan’s stance on not providing a military base to the United States was shocking.

Some Pakistani politicians and political analysts believe that Pakistan’s foreign policy has now changed due to its rapprochement with the United States, and that Pakistan is seeking equal relations with the United States, as Imran Khan has stated several times in various television interviews. For example, Imran Khan’s failure to answer the US Secretary of State’s phone and not talking to him shows that relations between the two countries have become very cold.

On the one hand, Islamabad’s dissatisfaction with Riyadh’s lack of support for Pakistan’s policies, especially in the Kashmir dispute, has created tensions between the two countries that lasted more than a year and a half, and no high-level trips between the two allies, Islamabad and It had greatly affected Riyadh.

Saudi mediation is because the United States knows that Saudi Arabia is more influential in Pakistan than the United States. Interestingly, Imran Khan’s approach and decisions are also unpredictable, as Saudi Arabia pushed for Pakistan’s recognition of Israel so much that it demanded the return of money it had lent to Pakistan, but on the contrary. China paid half of Saudi Arabia‘s debt to Pakistan and Pakistan returned it to Saudi Arabia, and Saudi pressure to recognize Israel failed.

Pakistan has not yet announced the main purpose and special mission of Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, but now we have to wait and see what Islamabad will answer to Biden’s envoy in a few days, whether his old friend will choose China or not. Zia-ul-Haq made another mistake and intervened in the war in Afghanistan.
