Biden was forced to raise the numbers of asylum seekers

The escalation of criticism of the Biden administration over its predecessor’s policies on immigrants and asylum seekers has prompted the Democratic president to make new decisions.

The White House announced in a statement a few hours ago that the US President will increase the admission numbers for asylum seekers from 15,000 a year to 62,000.

According to a White House statement, Biden said that according to the budget for the reception of asylum seekers, he intends to increase the number for the reception of asylum seekers in the next fiscal year to 125 thousand people per year.

The Biden administration’s new decision does not address the flood of immigrants and asylum seekers trying to enter the United States from Mexico, and the refugee crisis on the southern border will continue to be one of the Biden administration’s troubles.

Prior to the inauguration of former President Donald Trump, the US asylum seeker had a maximum annual population of 110,000, but during his four years in the White House, he limited immigration policies to 15 in several stages. Thousands dropped in the last year of his administration.

While Joe Biden’s effectiveness and opposition to Trump’s immigration policies seemed to resolve the refugee issue, his executive orders last month drew criticism from both parties for criticizing the president.

However, just over 100 days have passed since Biden took office, and his biggest challenge in his early days in the White House seemed to be tackling the Corona virus epidemic and its economic consequences. But now the immigration crisis has become a major problem, prompting members of the Republican Party and even some of Biden’s parties to criticize him for it.

“Ilhan Omar,” a Democratic member of the House of Representatives who is himself an asylum seeker, recently criticized the current situation of immigrants on the border with Mexico, saying: The longer the establishment of stable conditions is delayed and the decision to resolve the migrant crisis is delayed, the greater the problems.
