At the end of the NATO summit in Brussels, the US president described his upcoming meeting with Putin as a “very sensitive meeting”, noting that his Russian counterpart was a “worthy rival” and a smart and stubborn politician.
According to Novosti, US President Joe Biden told a news conference at the end of the NATO summit in Brussels that Moscow and Beijing were trying to destroy the unity and solidarity between the allies in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, but Responsibilities for collective defense remain unshakable.
Biden said: “The alliance between us (NATO members) continues to have a solid and solid foundation on which to build collective security in the future and even expand.”
The US president also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was a “worthy rival” and a smart and very tough politician. He said: “I have met with Putin before. He is very smart and tough, and I can say that he is a very good opponent.”
He continued: “In my next meeting with Putin, I intend to identify possible areas for Russian-American cooperation. I will make it clear to President Putin that there are areas where we can work together.”
Biden stressed that the Geneva summit would be a “very sensitive meeting” and noted that during his talks at the NATO summit, everyone welcomed the fact that he intended to meet with Putin.
The US President also stated that member states will continue to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Of course, he said, Kiev officials need to convince the North Atlantic Treaty Organization that Ukraine is eligible to join NATO and will take all necessary steps to that end, including a real fight against corruption in the country.
