Bennett: The Israeli cabinet will probably fall before Lapid’s prime minister

In a closed-door meeting, the Israeli prime minister warned of the possibility of a fall in the cabinet before his partner became prime minister in the coalition cabinet.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency International Group, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has said in a closed-door meeting that his cabinet will likely fall before Prime Minister Yair Lapid.

According to the Times of Israel, Naftali Bennett said during a closed-door meeting last month that he expected his current coalition cabinet to last until August 2023, when Lair Lapid is set to take over as rotating prime minister.

Zionist Channel 12 television quoted Naftali Bennett as saying in that closed-door meeting: “My guess is that the rotation of power will not happen. The government is likely to be dissolved between the time of the budget approval and the time of the change of power.”

The Israeli prime minister’s office confirmed the report in detail, but said that Naftali Bennett “will fully adhere to the agreement on the rotation of power.”

In mid-May this year, following the failure of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to form a cabinet, Zionist leader Yair Lapid was appointed to form a cabinet.

Neither Netanyahu nor any of his rivals were able to form a cabinet after another semi-full election was held in March in occupied Palestine, but a majority of Israeli lawmakers agreed that the president should reappoint Netanyahu.

After weeks of consultations with various parties, Netanyahu made various proposals, including a temporary resignation, but these proposals did not help him overcome the opposition, and he ultimately failed to form a cabinet.

Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid then reached an agreement to form a rotating cabinet. According to this agreement, Naftali Bennett was to become prime minister for two years, and after him, in June 1402, “Yair Lapid” from the “Yash Etid” party became the prime minister in the occupied territories; Of course, provided that the current cabinet can last due to the coalition of different and sometimes conflicting parties.
