Arrest of the brother of the martyr Sheikh “Nimr al-Nimr” by the Saudi military

The Saudi military raided the house of Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr’s brother and arrested him and his wife.

According to the Naba news network, some local Saudi sources reported that the Saudi military had attacked the house of Martyr Al-Nimr’s brother in Qatif, Saudi Arabia.

According to this report; According to special sources, the Saudi military raided the house of Muhammad Baqir al-Nimr, the brother of Sheikh Shahid al-Nimr Baqir al-Nimr, and arrested him and his wife, Nusra al-Ahmad.

Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr was arrested on July 8, 2012 by Saudi security forces. Prior to Sheikh Nimr’s arrest, Saudi security forces pursued his car and opened fire on him, seriously injuring Sheikh Nimr.

Following the arrest of this prominent Shiite cleric, widespread protest activities took place in eastern Saudi Arabia, and several young Saudis were shot or wounded by Saudi security forces during the protests. Sheikh Nimr’s trial began in March 2013, and the Saudi Attorney General at the time charged him with sedition and demanded his execution.

A court in Saudi Arabia sentenced Ayatollah Nimr to death on October 15, 2014, on charges of “inciting sedition in the country.” The trial of this prominent Shiite cleric took place without the presence of the media and without his permission to defend himself.

Ayatollah Nimr’s death sentence was upheld by the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Al-Saud in November 1994, and a letter was sent to the Ministry of Interior seeking the king’s signature to carry out the sentence from the royal office.

Finally, the Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia announced in a statement on 12 December 1994 the execution of Sheikh “Nimr Baqir Al-Nimr”.

In his speeches, Sheikh Nimr has always accused the Saudi regime of pursuing discriminatory sectarian and organized policies in the eastern regions of Saudi Arabia, especially in the two regions of Al-Ahsa and Al-Qatif.

Sheikh Nimr also strongly criticized the Saudi press and media for their dependence on the Saudi regime and for turning them into Al-Saud’s propaganda horn.
