US pharmaceutical companies have all reported shortages of various doses of amoxicillin, which is mostly used to treat bacterial infections in children.

For this reason, the US Food and Drug Administration put amoxicillin on the list of orphan drugs because the production of this drug in drug manufacturing companies has decreased.

The American Health System Pharmacists Association also announced that the shortage of amoxicillin in the United States began two weeks ago, but the Food and Drug Administration announced the shortage of this drug on October 28.

The most common reason children are prescribed antibiotics is to treat ear infections, although they can also be used to treat bacterial sinus and throat infections.
