Anti-Turkish protests in Baghdad

Sources close to the Iraqi anti-Turkish protests in Baghdad, the country’s capital, have warned that Turkish troops will enter the northern part of Iraq.

Al-Sumaria – An Iraqi security source said on Thursday that protests against the Turkish embassy in Baghdad had begun.

An Iraqi security source said: “The protests against Turkey’s entry into the Turkish army are on Iraqi soil.”

The source added: “Iraqi security forces have packed the roads to the embassy in Al-Waziriyah.”

The Turkish Defense Minister announced a few days ago that the Turkish Army’s operation against terrorist groups in northern Iraq will continue with greater power.

On Wednesday last week, Turkey launched its own operation in northern Iraq called “Five Eagles” and on the 2nd of February, the Turkish Defense Minister announced the end of the operation.

According to Akar, during the operation, two PKK members, including two high-ranking members, were killed in the group.

Turkey’s defense minister, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the country’s self-defense, said that the “Dohuk” province that carried out the operation had forgiven Iraq’s territorial integrity and that the Baghdad government had repeatedly criticized the issue.
