Amnesty International: Trump promotes violence

Amnesty International described President Donald Trump’s remarks and actions regarding the rejection of the results of the recent presidential election as “incitement to violence”, alleging fraud that led to her supporters storming the US Capital.

According to the organization’s website, Bob Goodflow, Amnesty International’s United States Director of Human Rights, said: Trump’s refusal to pave the way for a peaceful transfer of power in his country has put human rights, public security and the rule of law at great risk.

The director of Amnesty International also said about the attack of Trump supporters on the US Congress building: We are witnessing the dire consequences of government officials disseminating false information and inciting racial or political violence to stay in power around the world. The day of reckoning has come for the United States.

Trump has repeatedly encouraged the violence, disorder and lawlessness of his supporters, but these cannot be the actions of a leader, but of a provocateur. All US officials should condemn the words of their president.

According to IRNA, the joint meeting of the US Congress, chaired by Vice President Mike Pence, began on Wednesday night after Trump’s speech, which in the early hours of the morning, stopped and shocked the delegates due to attack of Trump’s supporters on the building.

As Trump supporters stormed the congressional building and tried to enter the Electoral College building, all doors to congressional chambers and halls were locked and security forces clashed with protesters.

At least four people were killed and dozens injured in the riots, some of them police. At least 53 people were arrested during the riots.
