America’s attempt to open Oman’s airspace to the Zionists

Pak Sahafat – An American media announced that the American authorities are trying to open the airspace of Oman to the planes of the Zionist regime.

Axios news site reported on Thursday local time, citing several American and Israeli Officials National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met last week with Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi to discuss the possible opening of the country’s airspace to Israeli flights and other issues.

This American media wrote, Saudi Arabia allowed Israeli planes to use its airspace to fly to India and China a few months ago. This action was considered a significant step in revealing the relations between Riyadh and Tel Aviv.

Axios added: But without a similar agreement from Oman, this route will be blocked for Israeli flights and the Saudi action will be largely meaningless.

Axios continued: In 2018, Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist regime, visited Oman and after talking to Sultan Qaboos, he was able to get his approval for Israeli flights to pass through Oman’s airspace. But after the death of Sultan Qaboos, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq opposed this decision.

Axios continued: American and Israeli officials said that since July, the Biden administration has been trying to convince the Omanis to open their airspace to Israeli airlines.

The Omanis have demanded some actions from the US in return. One of these demands is the beginning of strategic dialogues between the two countries, focusing on cultural and educational exchanges, trade, investment and renewable energies.

During last week’s visit of Oman’s foreign minister to Washington, these strategic talks were held for the first time and several other issues including the war in Yemen and security in the region were discussed.

American and Zionist officials hope that the progress made in last week’s talks could pave the way for the opening of Oman’s airspace.
