Pak Sahafat – The results of a survey show that the majority of American citizens believe that the age of their country’s politicians is very high and they want fundamental measures to reform the aging political system of the United States.
According to a joint survey by Morning Consult and Insider, the majority of Americans want age limits for their politicians, so that three out of four respondents believe that the age of American politicians is a problem.
84% of the participants in the survey want an age limit in Congress and 83% want an age limit in the Senate.
According to American law, there is no age limit for membership in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
According to this survey, only 5% of US Congress members are under 38 years of age, while 23% of Congress members are over 70 years of age.
To participate in the US House of Representatives, candidates must be 25 years old and for the Senate 30 years old, but there is no ceiling and legislators can be representatives and senators until they are 80, 90 or even 100 years old.

41% of respondents consider the age of government officials to be a big problem, 37% a minor problem, and 10% do not consider it a problem at all.
The important point is the small effect of party affiliation on this belief. Because 81% of Republicans, 76% of Democrats and 75% of independents believe that the age of government officials is at least a minor problem.
The participants in this survey also answered questions about their views on several political figures.
76 percent of respondents — 66 percent of Democrats — believe Biden is too old to hold public office.
Also, 57% – 37% of Republicans – believe that Trump is too old for the job.
On the other hand, 62 percent believe that Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, is too old for this position.
