American firefighter: The police did not allow me to help George Floyd

A firefighter at the scene of the murder of George Floyd, a black American who was killed in racist violence, said she had tried to help him but was not allowed to do so by police.

An American firefighter present at the scene of the murder of George Floyd, a black citizen, was testified in court by Minneapolis police officer Derek Shavin.

According to The Independent, 27-year-old Genevieve Hansen said on the second day of the trial that Chavin was present at the scene on the day of the incident and tried to examine Floyd and check his pulse, but officers stopped her

Hansen said she even begged police to let him check on Floyd’s vital signs, and she called police after the black man was taken to an ambulance and reported the incident.

The American firefighter added: “I was still worried about the witnesses on the scene, some of whom were black. I was worried about their safety because police officers were still present at the scene.”

Hansen continued crying: “I was worried to see a handcuffed man, who did not move, and the officers threw all their weight on him, and I saw a crowd that was shocked.”

Hansen said: “When the patient dies, we see that its bladder empties. This is what came to my mind. He was not moving and I tried to check his consciousness and I had to see if he had a pulse.”

She added: “There was no medical help. I stepped forward and was able to provide relief. “That was exactly what I had to do.”

The firefighter added that she had seen one of the police officers on a mission before, so she introduced herself to her and asked her to allow her to help Floyd.

Shavin is currently facing a third-degree murder charge and his trial is expected to last a month. For the past month, the court has been seeking a jury, a sign of the sensitivity of the case.

Shawn was released on $ 1 million bail from a Minnesota detention center, US media reported in September last year.
