America: We do not need Afghanistan’s consent for military actions

Pak Sahafat – The White House announced that the US does not need Kabul’s consent to carry out military action in Afghanistan from now on.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, citing Sputnik, The White House said Wednesday local time in a report on the legal and political framework for the use of military force: According to international law, before the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan, the consent of the host country was the basis of counter-terrorism operations in that country.

The White House added: But following the change in conditions caused by America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, the United States does not intend to rely on the consent that was given earlier.

The United States claimed that if Afghanistan is not willing or able to deal with the threats made against the United States from its territory, the United States has the right to use the necessary and proportionate force in its defense.

US President Joe Biden previously said that the United States is ready to use military force against terrorist threats if necessary.

In March 2018, the former US President Donald Trump’s administration signed an agreement with the Taliban to reduce US involvement based on field conditions.

After that, when Joe Biden became the President of the United States, he ordered all his forces to leave Afghanistan by the end of August 2021. This caused chaos and the Taliban quickly took control of the country.
