America transferred 5.4 million dollars of Russian businessman’s assets to Ukraine

Pak Sahafat – US Attorney General Merrick Garland announced on Friday the transfer of about 5.4 million dollars from Russian businessman Konstantin Malofeev’s assets to Ukraine.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency from TASS news agency, Garland said in a ceremony at the US Department of Justice in the presence of his Ukrainian colleague Andrey Kostin: Today I am announcing that I have authorized the first transfer of confiscated Russian assets for use in Ukraine.

Ukrainian Prosecutor General Kustin responded: “We are grateful to the United States for its decisive actions and support for our country.

He added: Ukrainian people will never forget this.

Reuters previously reported that the US District Court for the Southern District of New York has authorized the US Department of Justice to seize approximately $5.4 million from the assets of Konstantin Malofeev, who is involved in organizing pro-Kremlin media activities in Europe.

Malofeev has been on the US sanctions list since 2014. In April 2022, US restrictions against him were expanded.
