Pak Sahafat – US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced following the OPEC+ decision led by Riyadh that Saudi aid to Ukraine does not compensate for the decision to reduce oil production.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced in an interview with an American media on Wednesday local time that the Biden administration is still consulting with Congress about Riyadh.
In a conversation with Bloomberg, Blinken added: Saudi aid to Ukraine does not compensate for OPEC+’s decision to reduce oil.
The US Secretary of State also added: We are consulting with the Congress on measures to better guarantee the US interests in the relationship with Saudi Arabia.

Blinken also said about China that we are not in a cold war situation with China, but we are determined to defend our interests.
The US Secretary of State claimed that China believes that the current situation regarding Taiwan is no longer acceptable and has decided to put more pressure on the island.
Blinken previously claimed that the Chinese government is pursuing plans to annex Taiwan on a “much faster timeline.”
The US Secretary of State warned China without providing a document about his claim that its action to annex Taiwan will cause severe disruption in the global economy.
New tensions between Washington and Riyadh occurred after the recent action of OPEC+ led by Saudi Arabia to reduce oil production by 2 million barrels per day in the heat of the skyrocketing gas prices, and therefore several members of the US Congress called for a review of relations with Riyadh.
Since production cuts can increase oil prices, many see this production cut as an attempt to fund Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine and weaken US sanctions against it.
