America sanctioned Iran’s minister and ministry of information

Pak Sahafat – The US Treasury Department has announced that it has sanctioned Iran’s Minister and Ministry of Information at the same time as baseless accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran in connection with the cyber attack on Albania.

The US Treasury Department claimed this in a statement on Friday local time today, the Foreign Assets Control Office of the Ministry of Treasury has put Iran’s Ministry of Information and Security and the Minister of Information (Seyd Ismail Khatib) on the sanctions list for carrying out cyber activities against the United States and its allies.

In the continuation of Washington’s baseless accusations in recent days, this American institution claimed: In July 2022, cyber threats believed to be sponsored by Iran and the Ministry of Information disrupted the Albanian government’s computer systems, forcing the government to suspend online government services for its citizens.

Brian Nelson, US Deputy Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, claimed: Iran’s cyber attack against Albania is a disregard for the standards of peacetime behavior in cyber space, which include refraining from damaging sensitive infrastructure for serving the public.

This US Treasury Department official claimed: We will not tolerate Iran’s destructive activities against the United States or our allies and partners.

These sanctions of the Biden administration are based on baseless accusations, while yesterday this American institution imposed sanctions based on the baseless accusation of sending Iranian drones to be used by Russia in the Ukraine war, and also in fear of the development of Iran’s drone industry.

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan announced on Thursday local time that he had spoken with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama to convey the strong support of the United States to our NATO ally in the wake of Iran’s alleged cyber attack on July 15.

The National Security Adviser of the White House added: We continue to cooperate with Albania in the field of cyber security measures.

The White House also announced in a statement that US National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan had a conversation with the Prime Minister of Albania today and informed him of Washington’s firm support for this country.

White House spokesperson Karin Jean-Pierre also claimed on Wednesday local time that we support the efforts of the Albanian government to hold Iran accountable for the cyber attack.

The spokesman of the White House emphasized the support of the Biden administration for the anti-Iranian efforts to claim the July 15 cyber attack to hold Iran accountable and to develop cooperation with Albania to strengthen the cyber security of Tirana and strengthen the responsible behavior of governments in the cyber space.

The prime minister of Albania has said that his country has severed its relations with Iran by making baseless accusations against Iran. “Edi Rama” stated that this country is severing diplomatic relations with Iran and has ordered Iranian diplomats and Iranian embassy personnel to leave Albania within 24 hours.

After the expulsion of the terrorist group of the hypocrites from Iraq, this group migrated to Albania at the order of the United States and with the coordination of other NATO members, so that it could continue spying and subversive actions against the people of Iran.

Every year, Munafekin held a meeting by inviting anti-Iranian figures to Tirana until this year’s meeting of this organization was canceled due to security reasons.

Rejecting the baseless claims made by the government of Albania against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran considered the country’s decision to sever political relations with our country based on such baseless claims to be an ill-considered and short-sighted action in international relations.

While the Biden government talks about the approach of diplomacy and the slogan of returning to the JCPOA, it has not yet taken any effective action to return to the 2015 agreement, but in the continuation of baseless accusations and the basis of the opponents of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the failed policies of maximum pressure against Tehran implements and imposes sanctions under various pretexts in order to impose its demands on Iran with the approach of diplomacy combined with pressure.

On October 26, after months of reviewing the sanctions system, the Ministry of Treasury of the Biden administration published a report showing that, like its predecessors, it considers the sanctions as a tool to advance what it calls America’s national interests, and seeks to modernize it.

The US Department of Treasury published recommendations to improve the application of economic sanctions and turn them into a more effective tool in the country’s foreign policy.

The Hill magazine also reported on October 30 this year that the use of sanctions against people and other countries as a tool of American foreign policy has increased 10 times over the past 2 decades.

According to the statistics provided by Hill magazine, the sanctions imposed by the US Department of Treasury against individuals and countries during 37 separate programs have increased from 912 sanctions in 2000 to 9,421 sanctions in 2021.

According to this report, this statistic is only about the sanctions imposed by the US Treasury Department and has nothing to do with the sanctions imposed by other US government institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Justice and National Security.

The Wall Street Journal also wrote in a report: The excessive use of sanctions by previous US governments and their ineffectiveness has led to a review of this policy.
