Algeria revokes license of Saudi-affiliated Al-Arabiya network for providing “false information” and distortion of reality

According to the official Algerian news agency, Algerian officials on Saturday decided to revoke the license of Saudi Arabia’s Al-Arabiya network on charges of providing false and manipulated information.

The news agency quoted the Ministry of Communications as saying: “The Ministry of Communications decided on Saturday to revoke the credentials granted to Al-Arabiya TV in Algeria.”

The ministry added: “The decision to revoke the credit is due to non-compliance with the rules of professional ethics in the media and the presentation of incorrect information and media manipulation.”

A statement issued by the Algerian Ministry of Communications did not mention a specific incident committed by the Saudi channel.

Al-Arabiya is the second channel in Algeria to be revoked after France 24.

Al-Arabiya is part of a Saudi media network broadcast from Dubai in the UAE.

This channel is notorious for inciting sedition and distorting affairs in favor of the political side, which is in line with the narrative of this network.
