Al-Hashd al-Shabi forces jointly with army forces launched an operation against ISIL in the western Iraqi province of Anbar.
The forces of the Al-Hashd Al-Shabi Organization (People’s Basij) on Tuesday (yesterday) completed the operation “Thar al-Shuhada” in the province of Salah al-Din in northern Iraq.
Al-Sahlani told Al-Hashd News Agency that the 22nd, 88th, 9th Divisions and Al-Hashd Special Missions Regiment, the Army Operations Headquarters in Salah al-Din, took part in the operation.
He added that the operation led to the discovery of five ISIL bases and that the forces of 88 Al-Hashd identified and destroyed another headquarters belonging to the terrorist group.
Following the operation, al-Hashd forces, along with the army, launched another security operation on Al-Tharthar Lake and surrounding areas in the western Iraqi province of Anbar.
In this operation, the Sixth Al-Hashd Al-Shabi Regiment will be present in the Ramadi area.
Al-Hashd forces, meanwhile, managed to thwart the infiltration of ISIL terrorist elements into the Naftkhaneh area of ​​eastern Iraq’s Diyala province last evening.
ISIL elements in the operation were planning to attack one of al-Hashd headquarters, which Iraqi forces managed to repel.
Following the operation, al-Hashd forces, along with the army, launched another security operation on Al-Tharthar Lake and surrounding areas in the western Iraqi province of Anbar.
In this operation, the Sixth Al-Hashd Al-Shabi Regiment will be present in the Ramadi area.
