The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command announced today the death of its Secretary General.

Ahmed Jibril (1938-2021) known as Abu Jihad was one of the oldest Palestinian fighters.

Ahmad Jibril was born in 1938 and was nicknamed Abu Jihad. He was the founder of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, commander-in-chief, and its leader since its founding in 1968. He was born to a Palestinian father and a Syrian mother. He emigrated to Syria in 1948 and settled in Quneitra.

He was one of the Palestinian leaders who believed in the armed struggle for the liberation of Palestine from the filth of the Zionists.
