African Union: Foreign intervention complicates the situation in Sudan

Pak Sahafat – The Peace and Security Council of the African Union has warned about foreign interference in the affairs of Sudan and the complication of the situation in this country.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, citing Sharq al-Awsat, this council strongly rejected foreign intervention in Sudan on Sunday and warned that this issue could complicate the situation in that country.

The head of the African Commission, Musa Faki, also called on all parties, especially the armed forces and rapid support forces, to immediately stop the destruction of the country, the spread of terror among the people, and the killings.

In a statement, he asked the international community to immediately urge the parties to immediately stop military operations and return to the negotiating table in order to end the crisis in a satisfactory manner for all.

Meanwhile, the former Prime Minister of Sudan, Hamdullah Hamdok, warned against foreign interference in the internal developments of his country and called for talks between the conflicting parties and an immediate ceasefire.

Hamdok said: Any foreign interference in Sudan’s affairs should be rejected.

He also called for “dialogues leading to an agreement” and added: an immediate ceasefire and mutual understanding should be agreed upon. There is a catastrophic humanitarian situation in Sudan and there is no other option but peace.

Hamdok said: I ask the Arab and African countries to support the people of Sudan who are in a dire humanitarian situation. The situation of the country is such that the winner of the war is also the loser.

The Sudanese army under the command of Abdul Fattah al-Barhan and the “Rapid Support Forces” has clashed with each other in recent days.

The Central Committee of Sudanese Doctors announced the latest statistics of clashes between army forces and rapid support forces in the city of Khartoum and some other regions of the country, 56 killed and 595 injured.

Following the escalation of these conflicts, the presidents of Egypt and South Sudan announced their readiness to mediate between the conflicting parties in Sudan.
