A week before the election, Biden leaves for the states

Pak Sahafat – While there is only one week left until the American mid-term elections and polls indicate the defeat of the Democratic Party, Joe Biden has started traveling to several states today to participate in election campaigns.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report on Tuesday, quoting from the website of “Financial Times” newspaper, while polls indicate the defeat of the Democratic Party in the November elections, US President Joe Biden has started an in-person election campaign a week before the election.

According to this newspaper, mid-term elections have always been in favor of the party that has not been in the White House. Still, Democrats hoped this summer that voter anger over the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down Roe v. Wade would boost their chances of victory.

But the results of the latest polls show that due to inflation and economic recession, the Republicans are on the way to recapture the House of Representatives, and the control of the Senate will remain in the hands of the Democratic rival with a small difference.

Therefore, it seems that Biden, who has seen a steady decline in his popularity during the last two years of his presidency and has not yet made any midterm election campaigns, will travel to a number of states between today and November 8th to make the last efforts to convince the voters.

He traveled to Florida on Tuesday to speak to the state’s mostly elderly voters alongside Charlie Crist, the Democratic candidate for governor, and Val Deming, the Senate candidate.

The latest polls show that the two Democrats are far less popular than their Republican rivals. However, Florida used to be a state where there was not much difference between the two rivals. But in recent years, it has increasingly supported Republicans. According to current polls, Crist is 12.3 points behind the current Republican governor, Ron DeSantes, and Demings is 8 points behind his rival, Marco Rubio.

But it is expected that Biden, by being in Florida, will try to use the law to reduce inflation, which includes the reduction of medicine costs, and influence the voters, due to the aging population of this state. However, if the Republicans are in power, they will cut Social Security and Medicare benefits for older Americans.

Biden is traveling to New Mexico later this week. Michelle Lujan Grisham, the Democratic governor of these states, is trying to win again. In the state, Biden will try to appeal to younger voters by highlighting the White House’s push to eliminate $10 student debt for millions of Americans.

Non-partisan analysts agree that voters in the key states of Pennsylvania, Georgia and Nevada have a decisive role in controlling the Senate.

The White House announced on Monday that Biden will also make a trip to Pennsylvania this weekend to boost the state’s Democratic candidate’s campaign alongside former President Barack Obama.

Earlier this year, Democrats were confident that the state’s Democratic candidate, John Fetterman, would win against the Republican challenger, and summer polls showed him leading by double digits over the Republican challenger. But now the results of the polls show something else.

Still, Democrats in Pennsylvania remain hopeful that their candidate can win, in part because of the lead Democratic gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro is currently holding over Republican Doug Mastriano.
