1,500 businesses affected by recent cyberattack on American company

The CEO of the American company Kaseya reported that 800 to 1500 businesses around the world were damaged due to the recent ransomware attack on this company.

According to Reuters, Fred Vokola, CEO of the American IT company Kaseya, said in a statement: About 800 to 1,500 businesses around the world have been affected by the recent ransomware attack on the company.

He further added: It is very difficult to accurately estimate the damage caused by this malware attack in the current situation. Most of the businesses affected by the attack were key users of Kaseya, but unfortunately much of their information is now leaked to hackers.

The company operates in the field of computer network management in the United States and provides various computer services in the field of information technology and cyber security management to many domestic and foreign companies.

Kaseya also “immediately notified our on-premises customers via email, in-product notes, and phone to shut down their VSA servers to prevent them from being compromised”.

“We believe that we have identified the source of the vulnerability and are preparing a patch to mitigate it,” the company said in a statement.

According to the New Zealand government’s Computer Emergency Response Team, the attackers were from a hacking group known as REvil.
