10 Yemeni prisoners of war are released

Ten prisoners of the Yemeni army and popular committees who had been captured by coalition mercenaries were released through local authorities.

Al-Masira TV added on Saturday morning, quoting the head of the Committee for Prisoners Affairs of the National Salvation Government: The captives were released Friday through a local mediation in an exchange on the Jouf front.

Abdul Qadir Morteza, head of the National Salvation Government’s Prisoners Committee, did not mention the number of prisoners of conscience released by the Yemeni army and popular committees.

Morteza added: The United Nations has not yet made a real effort to force them to return to the prisoner exchange process, and we have not yet received any international guarantees.

He explained that the local prisoner exchange operation in Marb, which was recently “stopped” by the mercenaries of the Reform Party, was agreed two or three months ago.

The head of the prisoner affairs committee of the Yemeni National Salvation Government added: During this operation, we were surprised that the mentioned mercenaries stopped the local exchanges and refused to carry them out.

He stressed the readiness to carry out all exchanges of prisoners, which have already been agreed, either through the United Nations or through local mediation, and to include all prisoners from both sides, adding: It depends on the other side and everyone should treat this case humanely.
