Iraqi Parliamentary Elections from American moves to the empty promises of some candidates

With the heat of the elections campaign in Iraq heating up, the issue of employment in government offices by some political groups and candidates has been raised again.

According to the international group of Pak Sahafat News Agency, The promise of employment in government offices has become one of the main axes in the election campaigns of various political groups; This is something that many young Iraqis are looking for because of the very low level of private sector activity and for getting rid of unemployment in this rich and oil-rich country.

Official Iraqi statistics show that the unemployment rate in this country has reached more than 20%; unofficial reports, however, indicate further statistics, especially in the northern and western cities, which are still grappling with the consequences of the war against ISIS.

Now, with the heat of the election campaign in Iraq heating up, the issue of employment in government offices by some political groups and candidates has been raised again; this is in contrast to the poor financial situation of the Iraqi government, which is unable to recruit new personnel.

In this regard, an official of the Iraqi Ministry of Finance told Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed: There is no funding for employment in the ministries, and the candidates’ promises are just election slogans, and there is no budget line for new hires.

He said: It is not possible to comment on hiring or formalizing contractual contracts until the budget line has been determined, and any promises in this regard are just slogans for the realization of electoral achievements, and young people should not be deceived by these false promises.

US efforts to defeat Iraqi elections

Sadegh al-Husseini, a member of the Diyala provincial council in Iraq, said: Iraq is on the eve of an important parliamentary election that will determine the fate of the nation, and the presence of American troops threatens the election.

He said: The United States seeks to defeat this election and change the course in its favor by appointing its agents to important positions to be subject to their decisions.

Al-Husseini emphasized: This election is important for the Iraqi people, and foreign interference, especially American intervention, must be prevented.

He stressed the need for US troops to leave Iraq and implement the Iraqi parliament’s resolution as soon as possible and before the election.

Early Iraqi parliamentary elections are scheduled for October 10.
