The visit of Pakistan’s foreign minister to Iraq and Jordan with the agenda of deepening relations and developments in the region

Pak Sahafat – At the invitation of his counterparts, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan will make official visits to Jordan and Iraq, the agenda of which is to identify new opportunities for deepening bilateral relations, as well as review the latest developments in the region and the Islamic world.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from the spokesperson’s office of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will leave for official visits to Jordan and Iraq.

In a statement in this regard, it is stated that Zardari will go to Amman in the first stage and will talk with his Jordanian counterpart and other officials of this country about strengthening bilateral relations.

Baghdad is the next destination of Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, where he will meet with “Fawad Hussain”, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, and some high-ranking officials of the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan announced that the agenda of this visit will be to strengthen bilateral relations, to identify new opportunities for cooperation, especially to exchange views on developments in the region and the Islamic world. Also, important cooperation documents will be signed in this trip between Islamabad and Baghdad.

The movement of diplomatic, military, defense and security delegations between Pakistan and Iraq has increased significantly in recent years, and it indicates that the two countries are on the path of political, defense and military cooperation. The visit of Pakistan’s Foreign Minister to Baghdad is also considered as another step of the two countries to develop these relations.

Pakistan and the Republic of Iraq signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop tourism and facilitate people-to-people communication, including the movement of Pakistani pilgrims to Iraq.

At the end of January of last year, a high-ranking political-parliamentary delegation of Pakistan, headed by Sadiq Sanjrani, the speaker of the Senate of this country, visited this country with the aim of deepening bilateral relations with Iraq and consulting on regional developments and the Islamic world.

The bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Iraq has entered a new phase with the visits of high-ranking delegations to each other’s countries, especially the visit of Iraqi Foreign Minister Fawad Hussain to Islamabad.
