Iran trade corridor and Pakistan’s determination to promote communications on the common border

The Speaker of the Pakistani Senate, who met with the President of Iran in Tehran last week, praised the agreement with Ayatollah Ra’isi to increase trade routes at the common borders, saying: “Iran’s trade corridor is very important for Pakistan and the development of border relations between the two countries.”

Pakistani Senate Speaker Mohammad Sadegh Sanjarani traveled to Tehran last week to attend the inauguration of Iran’s new president. He also went to the holy city of Mashhad to visit the royal court of Imam Reza (as).

He, who met with Ayatollah Seyyed Ibrahim Ra’isi as the first senior official of Pakistan, praised the agreements reached in this meeting, especially the view of our President to further develop border relations with Pakistan and increase trade routes.

Sanjarani, who belongs to Pakistan’s Balochistan province, which borders Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, said during a visit to Nokandi, his hometown, yesterday: In a recent meeting with the new president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he assured that trade corridors with Pakistan would increase along the common border.

The Speaker of the Senate of Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of Iran’s geographical location and an excellent opportunity to use the trade route with this country, said: More job opportunities will be created after the opening of more trade corridors with Iran because the people of the border areas of Balochistan are largely dependent on cross-border trade.

The head of the 13th government last Wednesday during a meeting with the speaker of the Pakistani Senate stating that Tehran and Islamabad have an inseparable link, said: We must identify the capacities to increase relations and cooperation between the two countries and activate them in the interests of the two countries and the region.

Mohammad Sadegh Sanjarani also conveyed the congratulatory message of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, stating that Iran and Pakistan are two souls in one body and enjoy brotherly relations. We are confident that with your positive outlook on the development of relations with Pakistan, the level of cooperation between the two countries in all areas will develop significantly.

During the Pakistani Foreign Minister’s visit to Iran on May 1, the Foreign Ministers of the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding to establish joint border markets with the aim of strengthening cross-border economic exchanges.

The second and third official crossings of Iran and Pakistan in Rimdan (Gabd) and the former (Mand) with the presence of “Mohammad Eslami” Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Ms. “Zubaida Jalal” Minister of Defense of Pakistan on December 20, 2020 and May 1, respectively.
