Iran emphasizes cooperation of Pakistan in combating illegal immigration

On the fourth day of his official visit to Pakistan, Sardar Mohammad Ghanbari met with the Deputy Regional Director, Chairman and Director of the Lahore Federal Investigation Agency in Lahore, the capital of Punjab.

The members of our delegation were also attended by “Mohammad Reza Nazeri”, the Consul General of Iran in Lahore, and Colonel “Omid Sarvari”, the liaison officer of Iran in Pakistan.

The two sides stressed the need for close consultations and exchange of information, considering ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ police.

The head of the NAJA Intelligence Police and the head of the Pakistani delegation agreed to cooperate and exchange information on combating illegal immigration from Pakistan to Iran and the phenomenon of human trafficking.

Sardar Ghanbari emphasized: Decisive measures must be taken to identify the main causes of human trafficking and resources, because the continuation of this phenomenon will have negative effects in both countries.

During the trip to Lahore, the Chief of Intelligence of the Iranian Police Force and members of the accompanying delegation visited the tomb of Iqbal Lahore at the Royal Kingdom Mosque and also attended the morning ceremony of the security forces at the Waga border crossing on the India-Pakistan border.
