FATF gave Pakistan the task of implementing 6 more points

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has given Pakistan the task of implementing six more points.

According to the FATF, being on the gray list means that there are some flaws, Pakistan has promised to stop financing terrorists and FATF recognizes Pakistan’s efforts.

The FATF says Pakistan worked effectively on two of the last three conditions of the Asia-Pacific Group (APG) and confiscated assets to stop terrorist financing.

According to the FATF, Pakistan implemented 26 of the 27 points under the action plan.

The FATF said it had called for a full investigation into the list of terrorists and called on Pakistan to do more to prosecute them.

According to the FATF, Pakistan pledged to address strategic shortcomings in June 2021.

FATF directed that international cooperation be enhanced by amending anti-money laundering laws, ensuring supervision of lawyers, real estate agents, jewelery workers and obtaining documentary evidence of business in these sectors.

The FATF also demanded that sanctions be imposed where necessary and that decisive action be taken against anonymous businesses and property owners.

The FATF says that money laundering cases should be investigated and brought before the courts and money laundering should be carried out in collaboration with other countries to find and seize illicit assets.
