Bin Salman on the way to Pakistan; What is Riyadh looking for?

Pak Sahafat – Simultaneously with the meeting between the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia in Sharm el-Sheikh, there are reports of the upcoming visit of “Mohammed bin Salman” to Islamabad, a visit during which Riyadh is going to repeat the flamboyant promises of the petrodollar, the promises made during the last visit of bin Salman.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Pakistani media on Tuesday, Diplomatic sources announced the finalization of Bin Salman’s trip to Pakistan as the real ruler of Saudi Arabia. This visit is likely to be done on November 21.

Reports indicate that the Saudi crown prince’s security team will travel to Islamabad in the coming days and will review the efforts of the host, including the security measures during Bin Salman’s stay in Pakistan. The visit of the Saudi crown prince has definitely cost the host government and it can be said that hospitality from the long and wide caravan of bin Salman will not be cheap for Pakistanis.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif today during his meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince on the sidelines of the international climate conference in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, discussed bilateral relations and Bin Salman’s upcoming visit to Islamabad.

Diplomatic sources in Pakistan announced that in the upcoming visit of the Saudi Crown Prince, a financial package of 4.2 billion dollars will be finalized with the aim of supporting Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, and in addition, an agreement to build an oil refinery in Gwadar port with a budget of 10 billion Saudi dollars will be signed. It is said that China will also participate in this plan.

Bin Salman’s promises of petrodollars for Pakistan are repeated, while during his last trip to Islamabad, he announced the aforementioned commitments, including the construction of a refinery, which, of course, was not fulfilled until today.

On the other hand, the presence of the Saudi crown prince in Pakistan depends on the internal developments of this country, because the protests of the opponents of the government continue in Pakistan, and it is said that if the opponents of the government start demonstrations towards Islamabad and sit in, this will cause the cancellation of bin Salman’s visit.

If the future visit of the Saudi crown prince is finalized, this will be his second official visit to Pakistan in the last three years. On 28 February 2018, he made his first official visit to Pakistan in the capacity of the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.
