Baghdad and Islamabad discussed the process of granting visas to Pakistani pilgrims

Pak Sahafat – The Minister of Interior of Iraq and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan discussed the process of granting visas to Pakistani pilgrims to enter Karbala and other holy shrines, especially to participate in the Arbaeen ceremony.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Al-Sumaria News channel, the Iraqi Interior Minister’s Office announced in a statement the meeting of Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and added: In this meeting, the two sides discussed ways to develop the perspective of bilateral cooperation and coordination between the two countries.

According to this statement, the two sides discussed the journey of Pakistani pilgrims to the holy city of Karbala during Arbaeen pilgrimage and other religious places.

The two sides emphasized on efforts to remove all the obstacles on the way to Arbaeen Hussaini pilgrimage ceremony and organizing bilateral meetings between the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Pakistan and his Pakistani counterpart in Baghdad in this regard.

They also talked about the organization of the process of granting visas for Pakistani pilgrims to Iraq in order to participate in the Arbaeen ceremony and visit shrines on other days.

Referring to the experiences of the Pakistani side in the fight against terrorism and security affairs, the Iraqi Interior Minister called for cooperation and benefiting from the expertise of the Pakistani side in the field of intelligence and drones and other security aspects.

Pakistan’s foreign minister arrived in Baghdad (Monday) at the invitation of his Iraqi counterpart.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met and talked with Foreign Minister Fawad Hussain, President Abdul Latif Rashid, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, and the leader of Iraq’s National Wisdom movement, Sidamar Hakim.

The movement of diplomatic, military, defense and security delegations between Pakistan and Iraq has increased significantly in recent years, and it indicates that the two countries are on the path of political, defense and military cooperation. The visit of Pakistan’s Foreign Minister to Baghdad is also considered as another step of the two countries to develop these relations.

Pakistan and the Republic of Iraq signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop tourism and facilitate people-to-people communication, including the movement of Pakistani pilgrims to Iraq.
