Why is the United States seeking to impose the transfer of control of Sinjar to Erbil?

An Iraqi analyst has revealed the US master plan in Sinjar, citing continued US traffic in the Iraqi-Syrian-Kurdistan region and the transit of terrorists and the smuggling of oil and agricultural products.

Amir Abdul Moneim, an Iraqi security expert, said today (Thursday, April 15th) that US forces are on the move in northern Iraq (Kurdistan Region) and Syria, transporting terrorists between the two countries, as well as smuggling oil and agricultural products especially in areas controlled by the Kurds.

In an interview with Al-Ma’loumeh news website, he stated: The United States transports most terrorists from Kurdish-controlled areas in Syria to Iraq, specifically from al-Hasakah to Kurdistan.

Abdul Moneim continued: The terrorists at US military bases are time bombs that Washington is likely to use at any time. Therefore, the Iraqi government must take the necessary measures to prevent the entry of these terrorists into our country.

The Iraqi analyst added: The United States is seeking to impose Kurdish control over the Sinjar region, linking the Kurdish region in Iraq to al-Hasakah in Syria to facilitate the smuggling of Syrian oil and agricultural products and the transfer of terrorists away from the eyes of Iraqi security forces.

The US military, along with Kurdish militias known as the “Syrian Democratic Forces”, occupy most of Syria’s oil fields in the northeast and east of the country. The Syrian government has repeatedly stated that it will end this occupying presence and withdraw US troops from its territory.

Last October 9, after a meeting between officials of the Iraqi central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government on the situation of the Sinjar administration in the province of Nineveh (northern Iraq), which was attended by Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi and UN envoy Jenin Plaskhart, the Sinjar agreement was reached. The absence of Yazidi and Turkmen representatives at the meeting led them to describe the deal as a deal between al-Kazemi and Barzani to bring the Peshmerga back to Sinjar, sparking a new controversy over the deal.

The agreement has three main axes of administration, security and reconstruction, and according to one of its clauses, exclusively the police and national security and intelligence services will be responsible for security inside Sinjar, and other units and armed groups under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command and Al-Hashd Al-Shabi will be transferred out of town. The agreement has many opponents due to the welcome of the UN envoy to Iraq and the US embassy in Baghdad.

Recently, former Iraqi Interior Minister Baqir al-Jabr al-Zubaidi warned of new conspiracies against the country, saying that the conspiracy was more dangerous than the scenario of ISIL’s occupation of Mosul, which included Najaf Ashraf, Karbala and Baghdad. And the Al-Waleed crossing is underway, it is very dangerous and it threatens a catastrophe in Syria and Iraq.
