The verdict of the International Criminal Court from the point of view of the Zionist regime and Palestine

There is no doubt that the ruling of the Hague Tribunal on the jurisdiction of the Palestinian question is an important achievement on the basis of which the Palestinians can bring the Zionist regime to justice after seven decades of occupation.

Despite Palestinian optimism, some fear that the ruling could face another fate for The Hague tribunal on the racist wall; Although this ruling was issued in favor of the Palestinians, it was not followed up as it should have been and perhaps was not implemented, and it finally disappeared in the bureaucracy of this international organization.

It is in the interests of the Palestinians to uphold the legal dimension of this ruling because it gives them the opportunity to bring the military and politicians of the Zionist regime to justice, while relying on the political dimension of the case immediately misses this golden opportunity.

In fact, the balances of international politics are not in favor of Palestine, but in favor of the Zionist regime because of its support from the United States; The United States is concerned about the impact of this sentence on its crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Looking at the reactions of the Zionist regime to the issuance of this ruling by The Hague, we find that this regime has tried from the very beginning to give this ruling a political color and glaze; Benjamin Netanyahu has accused the Hague tribunal of anti-Semitism, claiming that the ruling prevents democratic regimes from fighting terrorism; The regime’s foreign ministry has also accused the court of politicizing international law, describing it as an expression of the hands of the enemies (the Zionist regime).

Despite all these allegations, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper wrote: “This sentence is the prelude to the trial of Israel as a war criminal; it is true that Israel is heavily dependent on the United States, but this does not mean that the United States can summon Israeli officials.

The Palestinians have referred three very important cases to the Hague Tribunal, and these cases are now on the table of the Special Prosecutor for International Crimes. One of these cases is related to the attack on Gaza in 2014. This case, especially the events in al-Shuja’iyah and the targeted and organized killing of civilians in the region during the war, alone can bring the military commanders of this regime to justice. The insistence of the Palestinians to pursue this case and the case of settlements and captives, through legal means and the beginning of an investigation into the mentioned incidents, can lead to their victory in this court.

The will of the Palestinians is just and right, and their efforts to realize the right are significant. All they need now is to move in the direction of the law to enforce the new ruling of the Hague Tribunal and to press for the start of an international investigation into the crimes of this regime and to provide evidence that will lead to the condemnation of this regime and its leaders.
