Biden’s new strategy towards Yemen and the dissatisfaction of the Saudis

Joe Biden’s recent strategy to end the aggression in Yemen, directly or indirectly, seems to be an unwarranted and unsupported attempt to save what remains of the attack but in the meantime, Saudi Arabia has expressed dissatisfaction and the UAE has welcomed it, and Yemen is constantly insisting that words are not enough and that this idea must be implemented, otherwise the Sanaa missiles will have the final say.

The conflict between Sanaa and the Saudi coalition is constantly expanding; each side has its own strategy for confrontation, but Riyadh is still afraid of starting talks with what it calls “Iran’s separatists and military arm.”

Saudi Arabia sees entering into negotiations with Ansarullah as legitimizing them and defeating former US President Donald Trump’s plan to extort billions of dollars from Riyadh to put the group on the terrorism list. After all, by being at the negotiating table for political dialogue, he will be forced to make concessions, and eventually, he will fall in a direction that will not be pleasant for this country at all.

Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council, said that any idea without real and objective results and without a real end to the siege and aggression would be insignificant to Sanaa. Mohammed Abdul Salam, the head of the Yemeni negotiating team, also stressed the defeat of the aggression and the siege against the mythical resistance of the Yemeni people.

On the other hand, while Riyadh is not very happy with Biden’s plan, Abu Dhabi has welcomed the plan, claiming that it has ended all its military intervention in Yemen since October last year. Observers, however, believe that the UAE’s plan to leave Yemen is merely a show of strength to shirk responsibility to the international community, when in fact, the country played an important role in the tragedy of the aggression against Yemen. Because the strategy of this country is to continue the invisible presence in the southern provinces through the militias that have been trained for this purpose.

Thus, it seems that the government in the shadow of the United States is trying to end the aggression against Yemen through diplomatic solutions; The Rape Coalition also sees the plan as a means of resolving the crisis politically, allowing members of the coalition to maintain their interests in Yemen. The coming days will illuminate everything.
