Aftershocks of the Gaza war; the compromise train that went to the bottom of the valley

In the real world, the war in Gaza has hampered the train of compromise in the region and has long hindered the Zionist regime’s hopes of other countries joining the process of reconciliation.

The process of reconciliation in the region is not going the way the Zionist regime wants, a regime that hoped to normalize relations with several Arab countries, a new page in its relations with Arab countries, but as it seems, the political changes of the last year in the region it has shattered all equations.

According to the Gulf Online website, the Zionist regime and Bahrain and Sudan are at loggerheads over the two countries’ affirmative vote in the UN Human Rights Council on the anti-Israel resolution, and Tel Aviv is furious with Bahrain and Sudan’s vote against the regime over the Gaza war and expected a negative vote from them.

The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper wrote about this that the Zionist regime last Monday (May 31st) protested the vote of Bahrain and Sudan to form a fact-finding committee on Israeli crimes in Gaza, claiming that the vote would not contribute to “peace” in the region.

Yedioth Ahronoth then wrote that this is the first time since the signing of a compromise agreement that Bahrain and Sudan have been at loggerheads with the Zionist regime.

Last Thursday, the 47-nation UN Human Rights Council voted in favor of a resolution to form a fact-finding team in connection with the Zionist regime’s crimes in the Gaza war. The war resulted in 254 martyrs, including 66 children and 39 women. The State Department and the Hamas movement also welcomed the resolution, and the Tel Aviv regime announced that it would not cooperate with the United Nations.

What has happened?

The Gulf Online further wrote that the popular and governmental solidarity of the Arab countries with the people of Gaza, and before that, the solidarity with the residents of Jerusalem and Sheikh Jarrah and the condemnation of the attack on the worshipers of Al-Aqsa Mosque, was an example of the political failure of the reconciliation process.

In the midst of the Gaza war, Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdul Latif al-Zayani told an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation that a Palestinian state should be established in the capital, East Jerusalem, and that the conflict should end. Sudan also called on the US government to stop the Zionist regime’s actions against the Palestinians. After the Gaza war, Sudanese political and popular groups also congratulated the victory of the Gaza resistance and called on the Khartoum government to immediately withdraw from the compromise agreements with the Zionist regime.

These signs indicate that the issue of compromise is still a marginal issue and has not been able to capture the political atmosphere in the region, and that this situation persists as long as the Palestinians are oppressed.

Palestinian writer and analyst Maher Hejazi told Al-Khaleej Online that the positions of Bahrain and Sudan have been taken under pressure from the people of these countries and appear to be transient.

Dramatic changes

Al-Khaleej Online further wrote that the defeat of Donald Trump in the US presidential election significantly ended the compromise efforts with the Zionist regime; US sources told the Wall Street Journal last January that five Arab countries had suspended their normalization of relations with Israel after Joe Biden took office.

In the political climate of the Zionist regime, most observers emphasize that the end of Benjamin Netanyahu’s political life has come, and especially after his failure to form a cabinet and the success of his opponents in this matter, this issue has accelerated.

Netanyahu, who has received a lot of political support from Donald Trump and has been able to stay in power as much as possible, has been in big trouble for nearly a year in several cases, especially on corruption.

The relationship between Netanyahu and Biden has also soured considerably. The two sides have seemingly differing views on the so-called Middle East peace process and the Iranian nuclear issue, and Netanyahu made it clear on Tuesday (June 1st): “If we have to choose between Washington’s friendship and overcoming existential threats, then we will choose to overcome threats.”

“Maher Hejazi” also told Al-Khaleej Online: “It is very likely that the compromising countries will try to review their policies on compromise agreements with Israel after the regime’s attack on Gaza.”

The Palestinian expert stressed that the insistence of the compromising countries to continue their relations with the Zionist regime will plunge them into a “harmful swamp”.

The results of the Gaza war

Palestinian writer and political analyst Wissam Afifa told the Al-Khaleej Online website that one of the consequences of the battle of Saif al-Quds was that many plans for compromise with the Zionist regime were delayed, and while the Arab regimes tried to compromise by abusing the issue of Palestine, this issue of Palestine prevented a wave of compromise.

He said that some Arab countries thought that by surrendering to the Israeli regime, they could gain the full support of the US government and be provided permanently in the region and regional space and be able to overcome their crises, but they realized that they were wrong and disappointed.

The Palestinian expert concluded that the Gaza war had a major impact on the compromise process and the policy of the compromisers, and that one of the most important achievements of the Gaza war was the stopping of the compromise train, which apparently started quickly, but in the first real test, this train crashed.
