Zionists express concern over Riyadh’s approach to Damascus and Tehran

An Israeli media outlet expressed concern over Saudi Arabia’s proximity to the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the one hand, and the resumption of relations with Syria, on the other.

The daily Yedioth Ahranoth reported that a Saudi security delegation headed by Khalid al-Hamidan, the head of the Saudi intelligence service, had traveled to Damascus on Tuesday to meet with Bashar al-Assad.

Referring to the purpose of the visit, including the reopening of the Saudi embassy in Damascus, which is the first step in improving relations, the Hebrew-language media wrote that although the news has not yet been confirmed by the two countries’ officials, it is undoubtedly unrelated to the recent meeting.

According to the author of this report, in the context of the Saudi Crown Prince’s statement last week about the need to maintain good relations with Iran, it seems that the Saudis are seeking to maintain their regional position in the context of recent developments in the region. While day by day, Syria is returning to its former position among the Arab countries.

Referring to the purpose of the visit, including the reopening of the Saudi embassy in Damascus, which is the first step in improving relations, the Hebrew-language media wrote that although the news has not yet been confirmed by the two countries’ officials, it is undoubtedly unrelated to the recent meeting.
