A spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces announced details of a large-scale operation by Yemeni forces against takfiri elements and mercenaries of the Saudi aggression coalition, and announced the complete liberation of al-Bayda province.
According to the international group Pak Sahafat News Agency, quoting Al-Masira, the spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sari, gave a press conference detailing the large-scale military operations of the army and popular committees against takfiri elements, aggressors and mercenaries.
Congratulating the Yemeni people on the anniversary of the September 21 revolution, he said: Our forces succeeded in liberating the remaining areas in Al-Bayda province from the filth of mercenaries and aggressors by carrying out Operation Fajr al-Hurriya (Morning of Freedom).
Sari stated: The Fajr al-Hurriya operation primarily targeted hideouts of elements of the al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorist groups linked to the Saudi aggression coalition.
A spokesman for the armed forces added: During Operation Fajr al-Hurriya, our forces succeeded in liberating the two sections of “Al-Sumaa” and “Masura” and parts of the “Makiras” section with an area of ​​approximately 2,700 square kilometers within 48 hours.
The brigadier general clarified: During the advance of the Yemeni army and popular committees to destroy the Takfiri elements, the fighters of the Saudi aggression coalition carried out more than 30 airstrikes to prevent the advance of the Yemeni forces and to support the Takfiris.
A spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces added: Al-Bayda province was completely liberated with this unique operation.
He said about 230 Takfiri elements and mercenaries of the Saudi aggression coalition were killed, wounded or taken prisoner during Operation Fajr al-Hurriya.
Sari expressed: During this operation, 70 Takfiri elements and mercenaries were killed and 120 were wounded, and 40 of them were taken prisoner.
A spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the destruction of 10 armored vehicles and various vehicles of Takfiri elements, saying that during the operation, 7 Takfiri elements barracks came under the control of Yemeni forces.
